State Updates

November 22, 2022 - The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact scheme was pre-filed as HB-237 in the House by Rep. Vikki Goodwin, D-47th, and in the Senate by Sen. Nathan Johnson, D-16th as SB-95.

January 2021 -  Bills have now been introduced in both the House (HB-1425) and the Senate (SB-130).  Senator Nathan Johnson (D-16 Dallas) has introduced the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact bill in the Texas Senate as pre-filed bill SB-130.  Representative Vikki Goodwin, D, is the Sponsor in the House.

We expect a push, from the California-based National Popular Vote office, in Texas this year!

Texas is known as a key player in Presidential politics.  Because of its size, it is always a major prize for Presidential candidates  - AND for the promoters of the National Popular Vote scheme!  We believe that Texas will be on the NPVIC targeting radar in 2021 as the Premiere State for them to capture.

Because of Texas' current State government make-up and the pretty strong feelings independence and States Rights believed in by most Texans, we feel that Texas is at comparatively Low Risk for joining the dangerous NPVIC collusion contract.

By neutralizing the Electoral College's majority vote requirement, the Left seeks to elect U.S. presidents with the largest minority vote. That is called a "PLURALITY". In a race with 6 candidates, the President could very easily be elected with more than 73% of the population AGAINST him or her.

Demand that they take every action possible to STOP the NPVIC whenever it appears.

Almost always, your letter needs to be 200 to 250 words or less.  Be courteous and simply express your opinion about why you believe that it is in Texas' best interests to remain in control TEXAS' Electoral Votes, and that Texas needs to REJECT the National Popular Vote interstate Compact every time that it is brought up.
