NPVIC Status

State UpdatesApril 14, 2022 - The Legislative Session ENDED, thereby KILLING the NPVIC Bill in the Senate, SB-37! March 5, 2022 - SUPER NEWS!! The Senate Resolution declaring that the Electoral College is the BEST way to elect the President of the United States was PASSED by the full Senate on 3/4/22!! The measure was decisively passed with a 31-Yea, 19-Nay and 6-Abstain vote. March 2021 - Twenty-three (23) Senators have introduced Senate Resolution 319 on 3-25-2021. The Resolution is one that we strongly SUPPORT. It is "A RESOLUTION recognizing the current Electoral College system as the best way to elect the President of the United States; and for other purposes." January 2021 - The National Popular Vote Senate Bill SB-37 was introduced by 16 Democrat Senators on January 27. We expect a big push, from the California-based National Popular Vote office, in Georgia this year. They have hired a half-dozen highly-paid former Republican State lawmakers and 'consultants' across the country for the express purpose of convincing Republicans that a national popular vote will help their Party specifically. With its 16 Electoral Votes, a Republican Governor and a solid Republican General Assembly - but a State that voted for Democrat Joe Biden and TWO Democrat U.S. Senators - Georgia is one of the few "Purple" States that the Left needs in order get closer to their Collusion Threshold of 270 Electoral Votes to activate the NPVIC Compact. The National Republican Party stands strongly opposed to the NPVIC scheme in its Party Platform and Georgia Republicans also have a good track record of following the Republican Party Platform. However, because of its size and because of Georgia's "Swing State" status of close elections, we give Georgia a Moderate Risk rating for succumbing to the NPVIC scheme. |
