We appreciate the efforts of Reps. Taylor, McGarry, Hixon, Hiott and Forrest  for Sponsoring this very important legislation!

This proposed Resolution -
"EXPRESSES THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY’S UNWAVERING SUPPORT FOR THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE, AND TO URGE THE GOVERNOR AND ATTORNEY GENERAL OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO LITIGATE AGGRESSIVELY AGAINST ANY EFFORT TO REPEAL OR NULLIFY IT, INCLUDING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE INTERSTATE COMPACT."

NPVIC House Bill - HB-3240

State Updates

December 2022 - Rep Gilda Cobb-Hunter, D-Orangeburg , has pre-filed House Bill H-3240, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact scheme for the 2023-2024 session.

ALSO pre-filed in South Carolina, on 12-08-22, is PRO-Electoral College House Concurrent Resolution H-3183. This bill expresses "the General Assembly's unwavering support for the Electoral College, and to urge the Governor and Attorney General of South Carolina to litigate aggressively against any effort to repeal or nullify it, including implementation of the National Popular Vote interstate Compact."  This excellent legislation is one we support and has been pre-filed by Rep. Bill Taylor, R-Aiken.

February 2021 - A Concurrent Resolution, HCR-3813, was introduced on February 4, to "Express The General Assembly's Unwavering Support For The Electoral College, And To Urge The Governor And Attorney General Of South Carolina To Litigate Aggressively Against Any Effort To Repeal Or Nullify It, Including The Implementation Of The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact."

We strongly encourage a YES vote by lawmakers on
H-3183!

On 12-09-2020, Rep Cobb-Hunter filed the National Popular Vote scheme as HB-3187.  We urge a very strong NO vote to STOP the NPVIC, HB-3187.

We expect a big push, from the California-based National Popular Vote office, in South Carolina in early 2021.  They have hired a number of highly-paid former Republican State lawmakers and 'consultants' across the country for the express purpose of convincing Republicans that a national popular vote will help their Party specifically.

With its 9 Electoral Votes, a Republican Governor and a solid Republican General Assembly, South Carolina is one of a few Red States that the Left needs in order get closer to their self-defined Activation Threshold of 270 Electoral Votes to start their NPVIC Collusion.

The National Republican Party stands strongly opposed to the NPVIC scheme in its Party Platform and South Carolina Republicans also have a good track record of following the Republican Party Platform.

We give South Carolina a Low Risk rating for succumbing to the NPVIC scheme.

Send Your Letter to the Editor -

Almost always, your letter needs to be 200 to 250 words or less.  You need to include your name, address and phone number - often, staff will call you to verify that you really sent the Letter in.
Be courteous and simply express your opinion about why you believe that it is in South Carolina's best interests to remain in control SOUTH CAROLINA'S Electoral Votes, and that South Carolina needs to REJECT the National Popular Vote interstate Compact every time that it is brought up.
