NPVIC Status |
February 2021 - On February 5, NPVIC Senate Bill SB-1092 was filed by Democrat Senator Victor Torres, 15th District. The NPVIC is now pending in both Chambers. On 12-08-2020, Democrat Rep Joe Geller reintroduced the dreaded National Popular Vote Interstate Compact scheme in the House. He claims that there is "MORE Urgency" now TO enact this Federation-damaging plot. "Recent events (Trump-Biden Election controversies) highlight that the vote of the people could have been hijacked, theoretically at least, in the states", Geller said. (Our Opinion: HOW in the world the NPVIC could ever be viewed as a SOLUTION to that escapes honest analysis! *) We expect a big push, from the California-based National Popular Vote office, in Florida in early 2021. They have hired a half-dozen highly-paid former Republican State lawmakers and 'consultants' for the express purpose of convincing Republicans that a national popular vote will help their Party specifically. In January 2020, Democrats introduced the NPVIC Bills in the House and Senate. The Bills both died in Committee in both Chambers in March 2020. With its 29 Electoral Votes, a Republican Governor and a solid Republican General Assembly, Florida is one of the few Red States that the Left needs in order get closer to their Collusion Threshold of 270 Electoral Votes to activate the NPVIC Compact. The National Republican Party stands strongly opposed to the NPVIC scheme in its Party Platform and Florida Republicans also have a good track record of following the Republican Party Platform. However, because of its size and because of Florida's "Swing State" status of close elections, we still give Florida a Moderate Risk rating for succumbing to the NPVIC scheme. |
